May 15: Jacob’s Trouble – Redemption and Salvation

Israel has a choice

For those who love Israel and the Jewish people, going through this series is increasingly difficult as we think about the trouble that lies ahead.  But ignorance will not stop the plan of God to bring redemption and salvation to Israel. Who better to pray for Israel than those who love her and believe in God’s infallible Word?

Let us remember that God gives everyone, Jew and Gentile alike, the privilege and responsibility of choice.

The option is clear:

  • Yeshua took the judgment and punishment for our sin.

OR

  • We take the judgement and punishment for our sin.

King David knew that he had sinned, against Uriah and Bathsheba.  He knew he was deserving of judgment and punishment but he turned to God for redemption and forgiveness.

Psalm 51:1-4

Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin.

For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.

Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight—
That You may be found just when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.

PRAY FOR ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE THAT THEY WILL CHOOSE TO ACCEPT GOD’S OFFER OF REDEMPTION AND SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN YESHUA.

Varian Fry
When France was under German Control, Fry was sent with 200 visas from the USA to Marseilles, France to help well known Jews and outspoken Anti-Nazi Intellectuals out of the country. He received no help from the American Consulate and soon exhausted the 200 visas. He was refused any more visas or help from the US government. He then went on to help all he could get out of France legally or illegally until he was arrested and deported in May 1941. He estimated his office interviewed over 15,00 people, assisted 4,000 and helped 1,000 escape. When he returned to the US, he was under surveillance by the FBI and shunned by colleagues and friends for the rest of his life. See more at www.yadvashem.org
