Many Jewish people (and Gentiles) reject God because they believe He is not fair. But they are judging Him by their personal standards. God’s forgiveness is not based on a person’s “good heart” or attempts at “good works.” God’s standards are based on His holiness and His justice which demand atonement.
Therefore from the beginning of recorded history He gave Adam His standards – His rules and the consequences of disobedience.
But He did more than just warn; He provided a way of forgiveness.
From the beginning, the way of forgiveness was by grace through faith in the sacrificial blood of the atonement. Ezekiel’s prophesy continues.
“Yet the children of your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ But it is their way which is not fair! When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he shall die because of it. But when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is lawful and right, he shall live because of it. Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’
“O house of Israel, I will judge every one of you according to his own ways.”
PRAY ISRAEL WILL ACCEPT THE CHASTENING OF THE LORD AND TURN TO HIM IN LOVE AND OBEDIENCE.
